Hi– we are Erin and Mav, the founders of Kernel. We are two ladies who love coffee, but found that we couldn’t drink it all day because it leaves us parched and jittery. In the search for something tasty yet hydrating, we stumbled on buckwheat tea and were hooked by its subtle, complex flavors. We soon found other grain-based teas like barley and summer corn. But they were hard to find, and the quality was all over the map. We also learned that many of these grains are also cover-crops which are great for the environment.
